FMP: CHANGEMAKERS WORKSHOP & EXHIBITION
Last week During our weekly tutorials, I expressed that I was going to create an NFT workshop with the main aim of teaching artists about NFT. During this workshop, the participants will also be encouraged to open up a dialogue on the ecological issues that have been brought about by mining ethereum and how these issues can be solved by creating eco-friendly NFTs by using the gas-free minting method.
Alaistair and Tiffany were both happy with the workshop idea because it encouraged co-designing and co-participatory activities.
The workshop was a success and amazing artwork was generated during these sessions.
The participants were also encouraged to talk about topics that are related to lack of self-confidence as artists and imposter syndrome. This dialogue Allowed for encouragement and advice to be offered by the participants whenever necessary.
Halfway through the workshop sessions, participants were prompted to create NFT artworks which were then showcased at the ‘Changemakers’ exhibition. Each and every artwork that was created at the workshop has a social and/or transformative message or story behind it. The exhibition is meant to give exposure to smaller artists. Below are some of the artworks that were created at the NFT workshop.
The visitor will also have the option to click on the information box shown in figure 18 (B). The information box contains a description of the art, the name of the author, the price of the art, and another link to buy the NFT is also provided (See image below.).

My own feeling on the subject is that NFT’s are here to stay and it is vital that we consider creating them more ethically. Next week, I will further look into NFT’s by reading journals and articles. I will also create a project timeline that will allow me to stay on track during the summer holidays.
